Hypnotherapy is a state of deep, relaxed trance with a heightened state of suggestibility and awareness. During hypnotherapy, your conscious mind is quieted and you are able to tap into the part of your brain where your thoughts, beliefs, perceptions, sensations, emotions, memories, and behaviours originate.
In this state, you are more open to gentle guidance from your hypnotherapist, to help you modify or replace the patterns that are driving your current behaviour.
When there is conflict within the mind between reason and emotion, emotion will always win, as emotion is a much stronger force than reason and logic. If we have a problem that we cannot overcome with logic and reason, hypnotherapy allows us to bypass the logical mind and ‘reprogram’ the subconscious mind to accept new and better ideas.
