Mindfulness-based CBT (MBCT)

MBCT

MBCT is an approach to psychotherapy that combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) methods with meditation and the cultivation of a present-oriented,non-judgmental attitude called “mindfulness”. This approach encourages clarity of thought, helping individuals to review their thoughts without getting caught up in what could have been or what might occur in the future. It provides the tools needed to let go of negative thoughts more easily, instead of letting them feed negative emotions.

Mindfulness helps you observe and identify your feelings, while Cognitive Therapy teaches you to interrupt automatic thought processes and work through feelings in a healthy way.
